Message in the picture:

“Joy – Get excited about the guaranteed hope of living forever with God. – Make heaven your dream and what you hope for; not a home or things on earth!”

Scripture for the day:

1 Thessalonians 1:5-6 For our gospel came to you not in word only but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction. You know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word despite much affliction, with joy from the Holy Spirit: (RKJNT)

Thought for the day

Joy from the Spirit; Now Make Heaven Your Hope

Quit thinking like people who do not know the Lord. They desire and pursue things that do not last and for most are hard to get. Things like the ‘ideal’ person, a home, the latest technology or a new car. It is time for the children of God to change their way of thinking and what they desire.

Get excited about the guaranteed hope of living forever with God. Make heaven the focus of your dreams. It should be what you hope for. Live like a child of promise and look forward to what God has for us in heaven, not a home or things on earth. No one can steal this joy!

Maintain your joy in the Lord my friends, until next time—be blessed— Tim.

Message in the picture:

“Are you wise and intelligent? – First of all, when God makes people wise, they are holy. They do not fight. They are gentle. They listen to what other people say. They are very kind and do many good things. They do not quarrel. They do not say what is not true. (WE) – from James 3:13 & 17”

Scripture for the day:

Colossians 3:12-13 God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So your new life should be like this: Show mercy to others. Be kind, humble, gentle, and patient.

13 Don’t be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If you feel someone has wronged you, forgive them. Forgive others because the Lord forgave you.’ (ERV)

Thought for the day:

Learn to use the Godly quality, gentleness, better.
1 Peter 2:9 But God chose you to be his people. You are royal priests. You are a holy nation. You are God’s special treasure. You are all these things so that you can give him praise. God brought you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (NIRV)As children of the King of kings, you are royalty. You were born into the royal holy family by the Holy Spirit. You have qualities considered proper to those of good birth or high social standing; refined; polite and distinguished.

Cherish your new life in Christ, be gentle people that please God our King and be blessed— Tim.

Increase your knowledge of God. Go to the updated Bible study: “Fruit of the Spirit – Can Others See God Through You?”. Visit the Sound Truth Ministry website: the link to this Bible study.

Message in the picture:

“Be fruitful in good works – increase your knowledge of God – Fruit of the Spirit – from Colossians 1:10”

picture of long beach sunset for fruit of the spirit bible study link

Scripture for the day:

Colossians 1:5-6 and 10 Because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you have already heard in the word of truth, the gospel; 6 Which has come to you. In all the world it brings forth fruit and grows, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and understood the grace of God in truth:
10 That you might walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all things, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (RKJNT)

Thought for the day

Colossians 1:6 and 10 introduce an action word karpophoreo (kar-pof-or-eh’-o) meaning making fruit in great quantities; be fertile. Notice verse 5 “the word of truth, the gospel…brings forth fruit and grows“; can we agree that from these Scriptures the unity of Christ, the Spirit and the word working in us will produce fruit.

The fruit that the Spirit produces cannot be imitated, I remind you, Jesus clearly states that we cannot do anything without Him (see John 15:2-8). Be fruitful in good works and be blessed— Tim.

Learn to hate your sin i.e., the sin in your life. Go to the updated Bible study: “Hater; How To Love People Like God and Hate…”. Visit the Sound Truth Ministry website: the link to this Bible study.

Message in the picture:

“Learn to hate YOUR sin – A sinner does not fear the Lord; they are not aware of and hate their sin. – from Psalms 36:1-4″

picture of Hollywood sunset for sin nature hater

Scripture for the day:

Psalms 36:1-4 The sin of the evil-doer says in his heart, There is no fear of the Lord before his eyes. 2 For he takes comfort in the thought that his sin will not be uncovered and hated. 3 In the words of his mouth are evil and deceit; he has given up being wise and doing good. 4 He gives thought to evil on his bed; he takes a way which is not good; he is not a hater of evil. (BBE)

Thought for the day

Learn how to love people like God and become a hater of the sin in your life. Romans 3:21-26 verse 23 “all have sinned” and 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we lie to ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (NLV) [read Ecclesiastes 7:20; Galatians 3:19-25 (key verse: 22); 1 John 1:5-10 (key verses: 8-10); James 3:1-12 (key verse: 2)]

Paul explains it in Romans 7:14-25, notice his statement at the end of verse 15 “but what I hate is the very thing I do.” (RKJNT) [read Jude 17-23(23); Zechariah 3:1-7 (3-5)]. He acknowledged and spoke of the sin in his life. Are you able to do the same?

Like it or not I use God’s word to point you to the truth :-). I have learned to be a sin nature hater, but lover of all people with the love of God. So, yes, I am a hater of the sinful nature that is first of all within me and the sinful human nature of others, but I am also a lover of people.

The goal is to use the truth, God’s word, to warn my friends and help us learn to hate sin but to love each other without prejudice. My prayer is that you learn to do so in Jesus name and be blessed— Tim.

How Can You Improve Your Life For the Good?

Make improvements in your life. Go to the updated Bible study: “Changed Life; Have You Absolutely Changed For the Good?”. Visit the Sound Truth Ministry website: http://wp.me/p4dhin-1q <<– the link to this Bible study.

Message in the picture:
“How Can I Improve?”

graphic for improve

Scripture for the day:
2 Corinthians 13:5-10 Examine yourselves to see whether you are still in the Christian faith. Test yourselves! Don’t you recognize that you are people in whom Jesus Christ lives? Could it be that you’re failing the test? 6 I hope that you will realize that we haven’t failed the test. 7 We pray to God that you won’t do anything wrong. It’s not that we want to prove that we’ve passed the test. Rather, we want you to do whatever is right, even if we seem to have failed.

8 We can’t do anything against the truth but only to help the truth. 9 We’re glad when we are weak and you are strong. We are also praying for your improvement.

10 That’s why I’m writing this letter while I’m not with you. When I am with you I don’t want to be harsh by using the authority that the Lord gave me. The Lord gave us this authority to help you, not to hurt you. (GW)

Thought for the dayChanged Life; Have You Absolutely Changed For the Good?
Have you asked yourself, ‘how can I improve?’ There are so many areas in life where this may benefit those who are not ‘perfect’ :-).

As Paul encouraged the Corinthians, I too urge each of you (I include myself) to take time today to examine your life to see where you can improve. Examine your life to see where you can be and do better.

Let’s do all we can to be and do better for the good of others and self. Make it a priority to make self-improvements this week and be blessed— Tim.

How Not to Please God; Pretend to be Good

Brace yourself for the latest Bible study “Hypocrite-Alert – Impress God In Life Not Other People”. Visit the Sound Truth Ministry website: http://stministry.com/daily-word/fdw1/#ha  <<– the link to this Bible study.

Message in the picture:
“Hypocrite – Outside you look good, but inside you are evil and only pretend to be good. – Matthew 23:28 (CEV)”

picture of snow-capped Mount San Gorgonio for the hypocrite bible study
Scripture for the day:
Matthew 7:3-5 And why do you look for the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye but ignore the board in your own eye? 4 Or, how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take that speck of sawdust out of your eye,’ while there is a board in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, take the board out of your own eye first; and then you will be able to see clearly enough to take the speck of sawdust out of your brother’s eye. (AUV)Thought for the dayHypocrite-Alert – Impress God In Life Not Other People
The simple truth is a hypocrite is a pretender. One who acts to be what they are not. Why pretend to be good when God knows you are not? You might fool people, but you can never fool God!

Are you a closet hypocrite, that is, a Christian when other Christian’s are around and sinful at other times? You cannot afford to miss this word of truth. Go to the website now, read, take time to study and then share. Be blessed my friends Tim.

You, ‘child of God’, must know the Devil cannot steal anything from you. Read / study / share “What Can the Devil Steal? The Thief Part 1”, updated. Visit the Sound Truth Ministry website: http://wp.me/p4dhin-6  <<– the link to this Bible study.

“Beware of False Teaching – Acts 20:25-31 ♦ 2 Peter 2:1-3:18 ♦ John 7:16-19 ♦ 1 John 4:1-6 ♦ 2 John 1:7-8 ♦ Mark 6:7-13 ♦ Colossians 2:6-10 ♦ 1 Timothy 6:3-19 – Not all are called and sent by God”

graphic of a bible teacher for false teachers

Scripture for the day:
1 John 4:4 My dear children [2:1], you belong to [are from] God and have defeated [conquered; overcome] them [the antichrists/false teachers]; because God’s Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world [that which is in you is greater than that which is in the world]. (EXB)

Thought for the dayWhat Can the Devil Steal? The Thief Part 1
If a father loves his children and has more power than any other being in existence. Would he allow an inferior being to steal from his children? God is greater / stronger than the devil. Isn’t God a better father than any human father could ever be? Again I say ‘child of God’ you must know the Devil cannot steal anything from you.

I pray that you have an enjoyable weekend. Obey God’s word (the truth) and not what false teachers / preachers say; blessings to you my friends Tim.

I urge you to review and share “Unwavering Faith / Hope; Know How to Be Absolutely Solid”, I’m excited about this Bible study. Visit the Sound Truth Ministry website: http://wp.me/p4dhin-11L  <<– the link to this Bible study.

Message in the picture:
“Continue to be strong and solid in faith; do not move from the hope you have in Jesus. – From Colossians 1:23”

picture of cloudy day with sun breaking clouds for strong faith hope bible study

Scripture for the day:
Colossians 1:21-23 At one time you were separated from God. You were his enemies in your minds, because the evil you did was against him. 22 But now he has made you his friends again. He did this by the death Christ suffered while he was in his body. He did it so that he could present you to himself as people who are holy, blameless, and without anything that would make you guilty before him.

23 And that is what will happen if you continue to believe in the Good News you heard. You must remain strong and sure in your faith. You must not let anything cause you to give up the hope that became yours when you heard the Good News. That same Good News has been told to everyone on earth, and that’s the work that I, Paul, was given to do. (ERV)

Thought for the day – Unwavering Faith / Hope; Know How to Be Absolutely Solid
The word unwavering is one of the not-so-familiar words. But is helpful when understood as it means to not feel or show doubt, or uncertainty; not be wishy-washy or hesitant. When it comes to faith and hope in God do not waver be solid and stand firm.

I pray that you have an extremely productive week. Blessings to you my friends ♥ Tim

Active Faith and Knowledge is Best

Improve and then use your knowledge of God and Christian living with these helpful Bible studies. http://stministry.com/bsc/

Message in the picture:

To know is good.

To know how, when and where to use what you know is better.

But, to put what you know into useful action is best.

picture of sunset over the desert for knowledge

Scripture for the day:

1 John 5:1-5 Every person who believes that Jesus is the Christ [i.e., God’s specially chosen one] has been [spiritually] conceived [and eventually born] by God. And everyone who [continually] loves God, who did the conceiving, also [must continually] love the person whom God has [spiritually] conceived.

2 This is [one] way we know that we love God’s [spiritually reborn] children: [It is] when we love God and obey what He commands us to do. 3 For this is [real evidence of] our love for God: [It is] obeying what He commands us to do. And obeying His commands does not cause us any grief [or, unpleasantness].

4 For whoever [Note: The Greek says “whatever”] is [spiritually] conceived [and eventually born] by God will overcome [the evil influence of] the world. And this is [how] that victory can be gained over the world: [It is through] our faith [in God]. 5 And who is the person who can overcome [the evil influence of] the world? [It is] the one who [truly] believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (AUV)

The message in the picture is a play on words. Let us try a few variations to see how it works.

Active knowledge

Add God to the statement:

To know God is good.

To know how, when and where to use what you know about God is better.

But, to put what you know about God into useful action is best.

Active faith

Change it to faith in God:

To have faith in God is good.

To know how, when and where to use faith in God is better.

But, to put your faith in God into useful action is best.

Use your knowledge wisely, prove your faith in God by living holy and be blessed – Tim.

Message in the picture:

“Faithfulness comes from the Holy Spirit. Faithfulness is part of your spiritual DNA. Be faithful to God first.”

picture of sunset over colton for the faithfulness bible study

Scripture for the day:

2 Timothy 2:11-13 Here is a true message: “If we died with Christ, we will live with him. 12 If we don’t give up, we will rule with him. If we deny that we know him, he will deny that he knows us. 13 If we are not faithful, he will still be faithful. Christ cannot deny who he is.” (CEV)

Thought for the day – Jesus is the perfect example of faithfulness; be like Him

The source of our relationship with God is the blood of Jesus. Faithful obedience to His word keeps this connection strong. Always doing what is right is the key to faithfulness. It extends beyond church attendance. Show that you are faithful to God by living right at all times.

Have a fabulous day. Blessings to you my friends Tim
