Active Faith and Knowledge is Best

Improve and then use your knowledge of God and Christian living with these helpful Bible studies. http://stministry.com/bsc/

Message in the picture:

To know is good.

To know how, when and where to use what you know is better.

But, to put what you know into useful action is best.

Scripture for the day:

1 John 5:1-5 Every person who believes that Jesus is the Christ [i.e., God’s specially chosen one] has been [spiritually] conceived [and eventually born] by God. And everyone who [continually] loves God, who did the conceiving, also [must continually] love the person whom God has [spiritually] conceived.

2 This is [one] way we know that we love God’s [spiritually reborn] children: [It is] when we love God and obey what He commands us to do. 3 For this is [real evidence of] our love for God: [It is] obeying what He commands us to do. And obeying His commands does not cause us any grief [or, unpleasantness].

4 For whoever [Note: The Greek says “whatever”] is [spiritually] conceived [and eventually born] by God will overcome [the evil influence of] the world. And this is [how] that victory can be gained over the world: [It is through] our faith [in God]. 5 And who is the person who can overcome [the evil influence of] the world? [It is] the one who [truly] believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (AUV)

The message in the picture is a play on words. Let us try a few variations to see how it works.

Active knowledge

Add God to the statement:

To know God is good.

To know how, when and where to use what you know about God is better.

But, to put what you know about God into useful action is best.

Active faith

Change it to faith in God:

To have faith in God is good.

To know how, when and where to use faith in God is better.

But, to put your faith in God into useful action is best.

Use your knowledge wisely, prove your faith in God by living holy and be blessed – Tim.
